Thom Child & Family Services Worcester, MA is seeking a Developmental Specialist Bilingual/Multilingual to provide home and community-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers birth to three and their families. The role emphasizes parent coaching, individualized plans, and collaborative family-centered practice.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Early Intervention/Early Childhood Education and 1 year (or 3 years with families) experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field related to infants and toddlers with practicum/work with young children.
• 1 year of Early Intervention experience or minimum 3 years with infants, toddlers and families preferred.
• Experience with infants, toddlers and families preferred.
• Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
• Ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners.
• Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally humble services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Bilingual/Multilingual Spanish or Portuguese or Haitian Creole a must.

Responsabilités

• Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the client’s developmental status.
• Assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress.
• Provide child and family centered services and activities developmentally appropriate for children birth to three and their families using parent coaching model.
• Provide service coordination by scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan for each family, ensuring that appropriate procedures and timelines are followed.
• Partner with families in the development of IFSPs to identify goals, objectives, and strategies related to the child’s development.
• Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child's development; assist families to act as advocates for their child; complete progress notes and reports using Thom electronic documentation system.
• Provide individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers birth to three with developmental delays or risks in cognition, adaptive behavior, social-emotional development, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication.
