Job summary

Thom Child & Family Services in Worcester, MA seeks a bilingual Developmental Specialist/Early Childhood Educator (Spanish/Portuguese/Haitian Creole) to provide home and community based early intervention for infants and toddlers with development delays and their families.

You will work with families to tailor services to priorities, culture, and evidence-based practices, coordinating IFSP goals and delivering parent coaching in a collaborative team setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and practicum/work with young children.
• At least 300 hours of practicum or work with infants and toddlers.
• 1 year EI experience or 3 years with infants, toddlers and families preferred.
• Bilingual ability in Spanish or Portuguese or Haitian Creole required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the client’s developmental status.
• Assess family and child strengths, resources, concerns and progress.
• Provide child and family centered services for birth to three using parent coaching.
• Coordinate services by scheduling, implementing, monitoring and evaluating IFSPs.
• Support families to identify goals and strategies for development.
• Facilitate parent-child interactions and advocate for the child’s development.
• Complete progress notes, reports and documentation in Thom system.
• Deliver individual and group interventions for infants and toddlers with delays.
