Job summary

The Children’s Museum Houston is seeking a Part-Time Early Childhood Educator to support the development and delivery of engaging, inclusive early learning programs for children and families in the community and at the Museum.

The role emphasizes bilingual communication, hands-on learning through play, and collaboration with museum staff and community partners to promote school readiness and family engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and another language, particularly English/Spanish, is required.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and teaching or relevant experience with young children preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with children, caregivers, families, and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with children and families in the Gallery of Wonder to foster play, exploration, and learning.
  • Prepare materials and learning environments for activities and provide interactive experiences.
  • Support outreach programs and assist with maintenance of program kits and resources.
  • Restock supplies and report maintenance needs for spaces and exhibits.
  • Develop and test new programs, curricula, kits, and resources based on priorities.
  • Communicate program successes, challenges, and feedback to the supervisor.
