Job summary

HomeSafe Florida is seeking a Developmental Support Specialist to coordinate family services for children from birth through age 2 in Palm Beach County. Responsibilities include screenings, parental education, referrals, and linkages to services with field visits and flexible daytime/evening hours.

You will partner with families, build community connections, document progress, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field with minimum 2 years experience with children and families.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in child welfare, primary prevention services, child development or related field.
• Schedule includes occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Valid Florida’s driver’s license is required.
• Successful completion of a background check through Clearinghouse (learn more).

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental screenings for children 0–2 during home and community visits.
• Partner with families by providing developmental activities, parenting education, safe sleep guidance, and home safety education.
• Connect families with early intervention, healthcare, and community resources by determining program eligibility and making referrals.
• Build relationships with families and service providers to ensure ongoing support through age two.
• Maintain accurate documentation and enter program data in a timely manner.
• Participate in community outreach, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives.
