Job summary

The YWCA of Western MA is seeking a Domestic Violence Services Counselor to provide emotional support, individual counseling, safety planning, court and medical advocacy for survivors of domestic violence. This full-time role includes on-site services at multiple sites, including Springfield, Holyoke, Northampton, Westfield, with after-hours coverage and occasional weekend shifts.

The counselor will lead groups, offer education classes, and participate in on-call rotations, delivering services

Qualifications

• Minimum completed Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Spanish language required.
• Trauma-informed approach and experience with survivors of violence.
• Experience with public speaking and outreach to diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person or virtual individual counseling to survivors of domestic violence.
• Offer after-hours counseling and be flexible to work after 5pm; some weekend work.
• Participate in on-call rotation to respond to emergency medical advocacy.
• Provide overnight, weekend, and other on-call coverage as needed.
• Assist with outreach events and community education after 5pm.
