Job summary

Home Watch Caregivers of Bridgewater in New Jersey is seeking a dedicated DSP caregiver to provide day-time personal care and companionship to individuals with developmental disabilities. You will support independence and safety while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized plans.

Ideal candidates show empathy, strong communication, reliable transportation, and willingness to participate in ongoing training including first aid/CPR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; caregiving experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Able to pass background check and drug screening.
• Strong communication and rapport-building with clients.
• Compassionate, patient demeanor with commitment to client care.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.
• Basic first aid and CPR knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities during the day hours.
• Encourage participation in social and recreational activities.
• Implement individualized support plans tailored to each client's needs.
• Observe and document client progress and any significant changes in behavior or health.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance quality of life for clients.
