Job summary

At Peace Healthcare Agency in Chester County, PA is seeking compassionate bilingual Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide meaningful support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred or required based on client needs.

You will assist with daily living activities, accompany clients to activities, document services, and collaborate with families and the care team to promote independence and dignity.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Experience as DSP, caregiver, direct care, home care, or healthcare preferred.
• Experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Compassionate, patient, dependable and responsible.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable transportation may be required depending on assignment.
• Must complete required background checks and onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with daily living activities and personal care as needed.
• Support individuals in developing independence and achieving personal goals.
• Assist with community activities, appointments, and social engagement.
• Provide transportation or accompany individuals to community activities when required.
• Communicate effectively with individuals, families, caregivers, and the care team.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services and activities.
• Follow individualized support plans and agency policies.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.
