Job summary

Care For the Homeless is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our Bronx/ NYC Health Service Center team. You will provide chairside support, prep patients, and help with lab and X-ray tasks under supervision.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, a completed accredited Dental Assistant program, and 1–2 years of clinical experience. Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred, with a focus on patient care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Certificate from an accredited Dental Assistant program is required.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance during dental treatment and support the Dentist and Dental Hygienist.
• Greet patients and escort them to the operatory.
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment, including bibs and instruments.
• Maintain supplies and instruments across all dental operations.
• Perform laboratory and X-ray tasks under supervision.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and surfaces.
• Document patient information in electronic records.
• Commit to ongoing development in clinical procedures and safe practices.
