The Dean will mentor staff, implement restorative practices, monitor data, and ensure consistent policy application, including crisis response when needed.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish, fluency in both spoken and written Spanish required.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in student support, discipline, counseling, or related field, preferably urban/charter settings.
• Experience with SEL, trauma-informed practices, restorative justice, and equitable discipline approaches.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and coach staff; facilitate professional development.
• Highly organized; manage multiple priorities and respond in crisis situations.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion and closing opportunity gaps.

Responsibilities

• Promote an inclusive, high-expectations school environment where all students belong and are motivated to learn.
• Develop and oversee behavior support systems, policies, restorative practices, and interventions.
• Serve as primary contact for student behavior, conduct investigations, mediate conflicts, ensure policy consistency.
• Provide mentorship, counseling, and social-emotional support to students.
• Collaborate with teachers, families (especially Spanish-speaking), and staff to address student needs.
• Use data to identify needs, inform interventions, and track school climate progress.
• Lead or support school-wide initiatives for positive culture, leadership, and assemblies.
• Provide professional development on restorative practices, SEL, and effective classroom management.
• Support leadership with policy development, safety procedures, and attendance protocols.
• Maintain clear communication among students, families, and staff to align expectations.
