Job summary

CSL in Brownsville, TX is seeking a Custodian to keep the collection center clean, organized and safe. You will perform routine cleaning, light maintenance and assist with supplies to support daily operations.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three months of custodial experience. You must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 40 pounds, follow written and oral instructions, and occasionally work overtime to meet center needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three months experience as a custodian or similar.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must wear PPE as required.
• Overtime may be required to meet center needs.

Responsibilities

• Cleans tables, chairs, cabinets, counters and appliances in break room and donor waiting area.
• Vacuums carpets, dusts furniture and removes trash.
• Cleans windows and doors at least daily.
• Performs minor maintenance tasks (bulbs, tiles, painting, minor plumbing/carpentry).
• Monitors grounds and parking areas and picks up litter.
• Assists in recycling and repackaging shipping materials.
• Inspects and cleans restrooms; replaces paper and soap supplies.
• Receives supplies and moves them to storage and designated areas.
• Maintains a clean, safe work environment and follows HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintains confidentiality of personnel and donor information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
