Job summary

CSL seeks a reliable custodian in Brownsville, TX to maintain a clean, orderly collection center environment. Responsibilities include cleaning break rooms, donor areas, windows, and restrooms, with routine minor maintenance and safe handling of materials.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish ability, basic high school education, and at least a few months of custodial experience. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three months of custodian experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
• Occasionally stand and walk up to 100% of time; lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Clean tables, chairs, cabinets, counters and appliances in the break room and donor waiting area.
• Vacuum carpets, dust furniture and remove trash.
• Clean windows and doors daily.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing tiles, painting, plumbing and carpentry.
• Monitor grounds and parking areas; pick up litter as required.
• Assist in recycling and repackaging shipping materials.
• Inspect and clean restrooms; restock paper and soap; perform custodial tasks as needed.
• Receive supplies from vendors and move to storage and quarantine areas.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment; ensure supplies and forms are available; follow HSE and OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
