Job summary

Jefferson Center for Mental Health is seeking a Crisis Pool Clinician to work PRN shifts at the 24/7 Crisis Center. The Pool Clinician evaluates walk-in crisis clients, provides de-escalation, triage assessments and crisis interventions, and makes on-site dispositions to ensure safety.

Master’s degree in counseling, psychology or a related field is required with licensure preferred (LCSW, LAC, LMFT, LPC). Pool rates range from $36–$46/hr (unlicensed) to $41–$51/hr (licensed), with priority

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, psychology or related field plus one year of related experience and/or training.
• Clinical Licensure (LCSW, LAC, LMFT, LPC) preferred.
• Meets the requirements of applicable federal, state and organizational background checks.
• Ability to operate a personal computer.

Responsibilities

• Responds to Walk-In Center clients and provides necessary clinical interventions.
• Evaluates crisis clients according to timelines for response.
• Provides de-escalation, triage assessments, crisis-interventions, and placements when indicated.
• Obtains collateral information from family, significant others, and other providers as appropriate and includes them in treatment planning.
• Follows principles of trauma-informed care to avoid harm and re-traumatization.
• Develops strength-based treatment plans that promote recovery, resiliency, and engagement with formal and informal support systems.
• Links clients to needed follow-up services as appropriate
• Consults with WIC Nurse, licensed clinicians, administrator on-call, and on-call psychiatrist as needed.
