Job summary

Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence in San Jose, CA seeks a Crisis & Community Support Advocate. This full-time role provides gateway services to survivors, including safety planning and referrals, through in-person and phone support.

You will coordinate with community resources, maintain client records, and participate in ongoing trainings and team meetings to support survivors in crisis and their path to safety and self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

• AA/BA/BSW degree required or equivalent, plus 2 years nonprofit experience.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed services is expected.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention, counseling, safety planning and risk assessment.
• Refer survivors to Next Door Solutions services and to other agencies.
• Maintain current referral/resource information and client records.
• Attend department and all-staff meetings; receive supervision from management.
• Keep up-to-date training on domestic violence and related topics.
