Job summary

Jagoe-Public Company seeks a Safety Coordinator to enforce safety policies and procedures on construction sites in Denton, TX. You will conduct site inspections, coordinate training, and investigate incidents while maintaining documentation and regulatory compliance.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish communication, the ability to read TCP plans, and knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, TxDOT, and TxDOT traffic control requirements. This is an on-site position with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record required, and be able to pass a drug, alcohol, and physical exam.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, and computer literacy required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking, training, and presentation in English and Spanish required.
  • Understanding of federal, state and city safety requirements, including OSHA, MSHA, TCEQ, and TxDot.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines.
  • People skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees, project managers and project owners, ability to interact with all levels of employees.
  • Understanding of how to read construction TCP plans, ideally having particularly good knowledge of TxDot traffic control plans and requirements for implementing traffic control.
  • Ensure that all traffic control measures comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify the proper setup and maintenance of traffic control devices and that all company safety policies are followed.
  • Leadership skills, such as the ability to positively motivate fellow employees and the ability to provide feedback to management with recommendations for improvement.
