Bergen County is seeking a Community Service Worker to promote local childcare resources and support families with the application process. The role involves coordinating referrals, providing education on child care assistance, and ensuring compliance with CCDBG policies.

The position requires the ability to maintain records, work with various systems, and communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking families. A driver's license is required for field tasks within New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience considered.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work with families.
• Bilingual English–Spanish is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Review and screen applications; follow up with parents to complete the process.
• Provide support, education, and services to families per CCDBG policies.
• Maintain updated knowledge of program policies and apply procedures accordingly.
• Inform families about the process and provider resources for child care assistance.
• Record maintenance compliant with county, state, and federal standards.
• Refer parents to a Child Care Resource and Referral Specialist for further assistance.
• Ensure eligibility determinations and redeterminations within mandated timeframes.
