Job summary

The Rowan Center seeks a Bilingual Community Educator (English/Spanish) to deliver prevention education and outreach across Lower Fairfield County. You will educate students, parents, professionals on sexual violence prevention, healthy relationships, consent, child safety, and digital risks in both English and Spanish, coordinating with the Director of Education & Outreach.

Qualifications

• Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) is required.
• Experience delivering bilingual presentations and outreach is strongly preferred.
• Experience in education, counseling, prevention programming, public speaking, crisis intervention, or nonprofit work is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bilingual prevention education programs for students from kindergarten through college in English and Spanish.
• Facilitate presentations on personal safety, consent, healthy relationships, and digital safety.
• Translate or adapt educational materials into Spanish while maintaining cultural relevance.
• Develop, review, and update curricula and training materials.
• Coordinate community outreach, trainings for parents, educators, and professionals in both languages.
• Represent The Rowan Center at events and partnerships throughout Lower Fairfield County.
• Support KidSafeHQ outreach and bilingual parent workshops, webinars, and resources.
• Complete crisis counselor training and provide crisis intervention and advocacy, including Spanish services.

Education

Bachelor's degree in education, public health, social work, women's studies, sociology, communications, or a related field
