The RFCUNY Research Foundation of the City University of New York seeks a bilingual Communications and Media Relations Coordinator for the Mexican Studies Institute. The role will design and implement communications across English and Spanish channels, promoting programs, events, and research for diverse audiences.

You will develop media relations, manage digital content, coordinate bilingual campaigns, and support public engagement in NYC and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field.
• Minimum of four years in communications, public relations, marketing, media, content production, or related areas.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, as required by program schedules, special events, and institutional activities.
• Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English with strong writing/editing skills; experience managing bilingual campaigns.
• Interest in higher education, Mexican and Latino studies, culture, humanities, and public communications.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement bilingual communications, marketing, and outreach strategies.
• Create, edit, and manage content for website, newsletters, social media, and reports.
• Draft press releases, advisories, and promotional materials.
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and partners.
• Coordinate photography, video, and multimedia storytelling projects.
• Monitor and evaluate communication strategies using audience metrics.
