Estuario, the San Juan Bay Estuary Partnership, is seeking a Communications Consultant as a contract service provider to manage media outreach, website content, and social platforms to broaden public understanding of the Estuary and its watershed.

The ideal candidate will hold a journalism/PR degree with community development credits, have 10–15 years of media experience in Puerto Rico, excel in English writing, and work effectively with diverse stakeholders and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, PR or related field with community development credits.
• 10–15 years’ experience with media in Puerto Rico and strong local network.
• At least 10 years of social media experience including mailing list marketing.
• Strong English writing skills.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and public speaking.

Responsabilités

• Lead the Communications team to raise public knowledge of Estuario and its restoration efforts.
• Write communications pieces and develop social media content for events, volunteers, educational campaigns, initiatives, and other topics.
• Work with website contractor to develop new content and graphic design.
• Strengthen public recognition of Estuario and its efforts.
• Coordinate media events to raise awareness of restoration in the San Juan Bay Estuary system.
