Job summary

Conviva Senior Primary Care in Corpus Christi, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant who will be the first contact for patient care, handling administrative duties and bedside support onsite. You will perform pre-visit planning, record medical history and vitals, and assist with procedures.

You will also perform specimen collection, administer medications under provider direction, and ensure accurate documentation in the EHR/EMR, including HEDIS/Stars measures.

Qualifications

• Active CMA or RMA certification from an approved organization (AAH, AAMA, AMT, ARMA, MedCa, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, NHA).
• High school diploma or equivalent; MA school/training or 5+ years experience with provider approval.
• 1+ year MA experience; Phlebotomy experience; CPR certification.
• Medication/vaccine administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type.
• Obtain and record medical history and vital signs.
• Room patients and assist providers with medical procedures and treatments.
• Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Prepare and administer medication under provider direction.
• Document accurately in the EHR and EMR, including HEDIS/Stars measures.
