Job summary

Hudson Regional Health in Jersey City is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant with cardiology experience to support physicians and nurses by providing patient care and clinical and clerical assistance. The role requires bilingual English/Spanish communication and NJ CMA certification.

You will perform history taking, vitals, prepare patients for procedures, assist with exams, manage charting, and ensure rooms are clean and stocked.

Qualifications

• Must possess certification as a Medical Assistant in New Jersey.
• 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is required.

Responsibilities

• Take patient medical history.
• Explain treatments or procedures to patients.
• Cleans and sterilizes designated equipment after use.
• Prepare patients and assists Physicians with procedures.
• Assists patient with obtaining food, toileting, post-op movement and maintaining comfort.
• Instruct patients about medication and special diets.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a Physician or Licensed Provider.
• Ensures exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned after each patient leaves and prepared for the next patient.
• Stocks exam room/treatment rooms with medical supplies, linen, and designated chart forms.
• Ensures chart is maintained with relevant lab work and test results.
• Assists in escorting patients and specimens throughout the facility.
• Obtains vital signs, weights, and EKGs when needed, and all other tests within the scope of the practice.
• Assist with blood collection/phlebotomy as needed.
