Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant in Bayonne, NJ to join our Cardiology team in a full-time capacity. The CMA will support providers, assist in exams, administer injections, and document care in Epic EMR while ensuring a compassionate patient experience.

The role requires CMA certification, BLS, 6 months CMA experience, and strong communication with diverse patients. Monday–Friday day shift; some travel may be required. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Must hold CMA credential (AAMA, AECA, AMCA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NCMA, or NHA).
• Minimum 6 months CMA experience required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Experience with EMR systems (Epic) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by recording vital signs and histories.
• Assist physicians during exams and procedures.
• Administer injections and collect specimens.
• Document patient information and test results in the EMR.
• Coordinate patient flow and maintain exam rooms.
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans and follow-ups.
• Schedule appointments and process referrals.
• Collaborate with care team to ensure smooth patient experience.
• Pursue ongoing professional development.
