Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking an Associate Educator (Classroom Support) for Edison High for the 2026-2027 term. The position supports classroom instruction, assists teachers, and helps provide after-school and special education activities.

Bilingual Spanish skills are preferred, with a 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week) schedule. Qualifications include 90 quarter/60 semester credits in an education-related field, ParaPro or equivalent, and at least two years of experience with children.

Qualifications

• Completion of 90 quarter or 60 semester college credits in Education, Child Development, Behavioral Sciences or educational area related to position assignment; OR
• Passing score of 460 on the ParaPro Assessment AND a high school diploma/GED certificate
• Two (2) years of professional experience working with children
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.

Responsabilités

• Assists students in classrooms with educational programs and assignments; supports teachers as directed.
• Assists teachers with maintaining a safe and productive learning environment.
• Reinforces positive behavior and provides individual instruction.
• Monitors student activities and records data for academic and behavioral assessments.
• Communicates with parents, students and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
