Job summary

Applitrack seeks a bilingual Classroom Aide to support Emergent Bilingual students at Nocona Elementary. This role assists the teacher with instructional materials, classroom activities, and administrative records under supervision.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, are fluent in Spanish, and are willing to pursue Aide Certification. Some experience with children is preferred; duties include supervision during lunch, bus, and recess.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Conduct instructional exercises with individual students or small groups.
• Supervise students during lunch, bus, and recess.
• Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of students.
• Participate in staff development training programs.
• Attend faculty meetings and events as assigned.

Reports to: Principal and Teacher(s) Assigned Dept./School: Nocona Elementary

Primary Purpose:

Assist Emergent Bilingual students in the classroom setting.

Assist teacher in preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Work under supervision of certified teacher.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Willingness to participate in training to get Aide Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills: MUST BE FLUENT IN SPANISH
Ability to work well with children
Ability to communicate effectively
Experience:

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Instructional Support

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.

• Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
• Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.

Other

• Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
• Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.
