Shining Stars Montessori Academy Public Charter School is seeking a bilingual Classroom Assistant (Spanish-speaking) to support a Dual-Language Montessori environment for Children’s House (PK3-K) and Lower Elementary (1–3). SSMA seeking a Spanish-Speaking Children’s House Classroom Assistant. The right candidate is a loving, experienced, and mature leader interested in supporting authentic Montessori practice in a Dual-Language (Spanish/English) Montessori Environment.The Assistant is a native or fluent Spanish-speaker.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Prepare the classroom environment
• Manage the “flow” of the classroom

POSITION DETAILS

This is a 10-month full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Benefits for full-time employees include health, dental, paid sick days and holidays, and tuition remission for qualified dependents.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Required:

Bachelors degree preferred

Pass a background check

2-5 previous experience with preschoolers preferred

CDA training preferred

TRAINING

During first year of employment:

• Attend an assistants’ training course offered by an accredited Montessori training program (expense to be paid by the school)
• Attend a SSMA Montessori training workshop for new assistants

• Review assigned Montessori books, articles, and videos
