Qualifications

• Ability to speak, read and write English and Spanish for communication with students and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide bilingual academic assistance in the home language as directed by and under the supervision of the teacher.
• Confer with teachers concerning programs and materials to meet student needs.
• Assist with evaluating student progress and providing feedback to students and parents.
• Assist with ESOL eligibility testing and placement records.
• Provide translation for non-English speaking parents such as phone calls, notes, and letters between home and school.
• Assist and serve as interpreter/translator for ESOL Parent Advisory Councils and meetings.
• Perform other non-instructional duties as assigned and follow district safety policies.
