Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of Teacher Assisting Curriculum and passing ParaPro or equivalent.
• Ability to speak, read and write English and the language of the ELL population.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic assistance for individual or small groups under teacher supervision.
• Confer with teachers to meet student needs.
• Assist with evaluating student progress and provide feedback to students/parents.
• Assist with ESOL testing and language support, and maintain placement/achievement records.
• Provide translation for non-English speaking parents and serve as interpreter for ESOL committees/parent councils.
• Perform other non-instructional duties as assigned and follow employment policies.
