Job summary

Durham County Government seeks a bilingual Child Welfare Social Worker - Permanency Planning to deliver protective, investigative and case management services for at-risk children. You will respond to crises, document thoroughly and collaborate with community partners to pursue permanency goals such as reunification or adoption.

The role requires advanced social work skills, knowledge of federal/state guidelines, and the ability to testify in court as an expert witness.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in accredited school of social work and one year of social work experience.
• Or a Bachelor’s degree in social work and two years of social work/counseling experience.
• Or a four-year degree in a human services field with three years of social work/counseling experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to at-risk children in the custody of DSS and support permanency goals.
• Prepare court summaries and participate in associated court proceedings; maintain case documentation.
