Job summary

Alternative Family Services in Sacramento, CA is seeking a dedicated Caseworker to support foster youth by building relationships, crafting treatment plans, and coordinating services for children and their families. The role involves community-based work with travel across Sacramento and San Joaquin Counties.

The position requires a Master’s degree in social work or related field, background clearance, and driving ability. Strong communication and bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have Master’s degree in social work or related field per CCR Title 22.
• Ability to obtain fingerprint and government required background clearances.
• 1-2 years experience working with children and families preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support placements of youth in foster homes.
• Conduct regular in-home visits and provide ongoing supervision and support to youth and resource families.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans within required timelines and update regularly.
• Provide crisis intervention and emergency response, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely case documentation in accordance with agency and state regulations.
• Coordinate and arrange services including therapy, education, medical care, and recreational activities.
• Train and support resource parents to ensure quality care and compliance.
• Collaborate with treatment team members, county representatives, and community partners.
