Job summary

Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC) is seeking a Caseworker to support families of children with developmental disabilities. You will assist with language access, translation, IEP navigation, and connecting families to community services.

Reporting to the Program Supervisor, you will help with documentation, outreach, and coordination with staff and funding sources, including weekend coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree +1 year social service OR Associate’s +3 years relevant experience.
• Experience with I/DD population and sensitivity to individual needs.
• Strong communication, cooperation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide family support, training, counseling, referral, advocacy, translation, and outreach to non-English speaking families.
• Assist parents in understanding school IEP and translation needs.
• Connect families to community resources including immigration, healthcare, legal services, and benefits.
• Coordinate a parent support group and assist with enrollment targets.
• Support staff with scheduling, work plans, and documentation.
