Job summary
The University YMCA seeks a mission-driven Case Worker Specialist for the New American Welcome Center’s Immigrant Helpline in Urbana, IL. You will provide English and Spanish case management, assist with public benefits applications, referrals, and follow up to helpline clients.
Work closely with the Immigrant Family Services Manager and helpline team to ensure goal achievement, continuity of service, and timely data tracking. This is a grant-funded, full-time role through June 30, 2027.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Ability to work flexible schedule, some evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Experience with Adobe, Canva, Facebook, Salesforce, Slack and WhatsApp.
- Organize community information events.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients by filling out public benefits applications and follow up with DHS.
- Conduct case management and referrals for English- and Spanish-speaking clients.
- Create action plans with clients to reach goals.
- Collaborate with helpline team to ensure continuous service.
- Accurately track client data with attention to detail.
- Stay current with state public benefits policy changes.
