Goodsamhospital is seeking a Referrals Clerk to support the Clinic Manager by handling pre-authorizations and pre-certifications, and by promoting clear communication across departments including physician offices and insurance companies.

The role requires a high school diploma (Medical Assistant preferred) and bilingual English/Spanish abilities. Strong typing skills and basic office equipment proficiency are needed to ensure efficient referral processing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required (must communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff).
• Basic typing skills and ability to use office equipment.

Responsabilités

• Submit pre-authorizations and pre-certifications for patient care.
• Document all referrals and forward to appropriate personnel or department.
• Follow up referrals to ensure appointments are made for appropriate care or testing.
• Answer patient inquiries and take messages for follow up.
• Assist providers in completing medical documentation for referrals per Nurse Supervisor guidance.
• Participate in staff meetings and other instructed meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle protected health information per HIPAA.
• Perform other duties as required.
