Job summary

Merchants Distributors, LLC is seeking a Purchasing/Buyer to oversee inventory for a product line, buy in collaboration with management, procurement and administration. The role requires bilingual Spanish/English and a focus on maintaining stock levels and supplier relationships.

You will negotiate prices, prepare purchase orders, coordinate with vendors, and ensure timely fulfillment while adhering to FSMA-like guidelines and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, supply chain management or related field.
• 3–5 years retail buying experience preferred.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word and PO software.

Responsibilities

• Identify customer needs to find new product offerings.
• Negotiate prices considering profitability before placing orders.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and partners.
• Maintain inventory levels and ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Process and create purchase orders in the system.
• Develop promotional product lines with management.
• Plan pricing strategies with suppliers for optimal pricing.
• Publish inventory and ordering reports for upper management.
• Collaborate with warehouse and operations to satisfy purchase orders.
• Collaborate with managers to clarify purchase requisitions and refine specifications.
