Covered California in Sacramento is seeking a Bilingual Service Center Representative to join the Business Operations team. In this role you will directly assist consumers with enrollment in health coverage while gaining experience with information systems and Microsoft Office.

Must be fluent in English and Spanish; this government position includes bilingual pay differentials. A path to eligibility on state civil service lists is available; apply by the deadline noted in the posting.

Who Are We?

Join the Sacramento Business Operations Service Center as the next Business Operations Bilingual Service Center Representative! As part of the Service Center Business Operations team, you will be an integral part of accomplishing Covered California’s mission and main goals.

How You’ll Make an Impact

As the Bilingual Business Operations Service Center Representative, you will be responsible for directly assisting consumers with enrollment into health coverage. You will be able to gain experience working with various information systems, as well as improve upon existing Microsoft Office skills. Bilingual Positions: Must be fluent in the following language to be appointed to this position - Spanish.

• Call Center Pay Differential: If selected, incumbents will be compensated an additional $150 per month.
• Bilingual Pay Differential: If selected, incumbents will have to pass a fluency exam. Once passed, incumbents will be compensated an additional $200 per month.

This position’s office headquarters location is designated in Sacramento County. Travel expenses associated with commuting to the employee’s office headquarters location are not reimbursable, other than authorized transit subsidies.

NOTE: To be considered for this job opportunity, applicants must be reachable on an employment list, have transfer eligibility, or have reinstatement eligibility. If you are new to California State service and you do not have list eligibility, you must take the exam for this classification. To gain employment list eligibility.

Qualifications We’re Looking For:

• Experience reviewing, processing, and accurately entering information into systems, databases, or forms.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and complete accurate work within strict deadlines while supporting English and Spanish speaking consumers or stakeholders.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish, including the ability to explain complex information and provide effective bilingual customer service.
• Experience interpreting and applying laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, preferably in public health, health care, or related government programs.
• Demonstrated ability to organize work, maintain accurate records, and use Outlook, Word, and Excel to support program operations.
