Job summary

Bertelsmann, Inc. is hiring a Benefits Specialist to serve as the main contact for U.S. employees across Bertelsmann Printing Group, Penguin Random House, BMG and affiliated companies.

You will coordinate with benefit vendors, support enrollment, respond to inquiries, and assist with retiree benefits. The role requires collaboration with HRIS and benefits teams and occasional evening shifts. The position reports to the Director of Employee Benefits and requires a strong knowledge of health,

Qualifications

• 4 or more years of work experience in human resources required, including 2 or more years in a benefits role
• Bachelor’s degree or related experience required; CEBS certification preferred
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required; translate benefits information
• Knowledge of health & welfare plans, retirement plans, leave of absence, FMLA and workers compensation coordination
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables, and other Office applications
• Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including periodic shifts outside standard business hours

Responsibilities

• Assist employees with benefit issues including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA, leaves of absence, pension and 401(k)
• Support annual enrollment, changes to life events, onboarding vendors for acquisitions
• Respond to high daily volume inquiries and assist employees with benefits-related issues
• Collaborate with HRIS, Corporate Benefits, HR Business partners and vendors on enrollment and eligibility
• Draft communications for benefits programs and conduct benefits orientations
• Support translation of benefit communications between English and Spanish
• Assist with leave of absence and key HR entries as needed
• Support data accuracy and document retention for benefits records
