Job summary

Bertelsmann, Inc. is seeking a Benefits Specialist to join the HR-Benefits Team supporting U.S. employees across Bertelsmann's operating units. You will respond to benefit inquiries, coordinate with vendors, and assist with leave of absence and retiree benefits.

The role requires 4+ years in HR with 2+ in benefits, bilingual English/Spanish, strong Excel and HRIS skills, and the ability to translate benefits information for a large, decentralized organization.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in HR, including 2+ years in benefits.
• Bachelor’s degree or related experience; CEBS preferred.
• Bilingual English and Spanish required; translate benefits info.
• Knowledge of health, welfare, retirement plans, FMLA, and workers’ comp coordination.
• Detail-oriented with strong organization and problem-solving.
• Strong written and verbal communication for a large organization.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, decentralized environment.
• Proficient in Excel and Office; experience with HRIS (UKG).

Responsibilities

• Assist employees with benefits issues including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
• Support annual enrollment and changes; onboard acquired companies.
• Respond to high volume inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
• Coordinate with carriers to resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with HRIS, Corporate Benefits, HR Business Partners, and vendors.
• Research and interpret benefits policies; provide guidance.
• Prepare communications for benefits orientations and annual enrollment.
• Support translation of benefit communications between English and Spanish.
• Assist with leave of absence and leave entries; audit data accuracy.
• Maintain document retention in line with policies.
