Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking a dedicated Behavior Support Counselor - Bilingual in Compton, CA to support children, youth and families in high fidelity wraparound services. Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, with competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Education FS I: High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.)
• Education FS II: Associates degree in a Mental Health, Human Services or closely related field
• Education FS III: Bachelor’s degree in a mental health, human services, or closely related field
• Experience FS I: Three (3) years experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children and families
• Experience FS II: Two (2) years experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children and families
• Experience FC III: One (1) year experience working with severely emotionally disturbed children and/or families
• Licensure & Certification: Valid California Driver’s License and maintenance of a driving record that meets the company driver eligibility policy
• Language Skills: Spanish Speaking Required

Responsibilities

• The Family Specialist builds trusting relationships with both the child/youth and their parent/caregiver, providing guidance and strategies addressing behavioral challenges and emotional growth.
• The Family Specialist offers direct behavioral interventions and skill-building for the youth and caregivers, coordinating with the youth therapist and the Child and Family Team to support goals.
