Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Houston, TX is seeking a friendly Bakery Clerk to join Store 020 Houston-Willowbrook. Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, you will assist customers, handle bakery purchases, and keep displays clean and well-stocked.

Efficient reading of product labels and pricing codes, basic English/Spanish communication, and ability to lift up to 60 pounds are required. Food handling certification may be needed; prior retail experience is a plus, and equal opportunity employment is

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service in the Bakery department and assist with bakery purchases.
• Clean, stock, and rotate front-store and bakery displays.
• Take special orders from customers and coordinate with the Baker.
• Assist in deciding which items need to be baked or decorated.
• Help in department cleaning and floor maintenance.
