Job summary

Montgomery Theater seeks a bilingual (Spanish and English) Assistant Stage Manager to assist the Stage Manager with backstage support during all Technical rehearsals and performances for Laughs in Spanish by Alexis Scheer, directed by Tanaquil Márquez.

Responsibilities include supervising actions on and off stage, maintaining a safe environment for cast and crew, and assisting with script management and prop supervision. Availability for all performances is required.

Qualifications

• Backstage experience required.
• Some technical and electrical experience is a plus.
• Demonstrates responsibility and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Assist SM supervising and coordinating actions taking place on and off stage throughout production.
• Help SM maintain a safe environment for acting company and production staff.
• Assist in script management and prop supervision.
• When necessary, set stage properties, set, spike and move furniture as required for rehearsals and performances.
• Be available for all performances.
