Job summary

Montgomery Theater seeks a bilingual (Spanish and English) Assistant Stage Manager to assist the Stage Manager with backstage support during all Technical rehearsals and performances for Laughs in Spanish.

Responsibilities include supervising and coordinating actions on and off stage, maintaining a safe environment, managing scripts and props, and setting stage properties as required. Availability for all performances is essential.

Qualifications

• Backstage experience required.
• Some technical and electrical experience is a plus.
• Demonstrates responsibility and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish.

About the role: Montgomery Theater seeks a bilingual (Spanish and English) Assistant Stage Manager to assist the Stage Manager (SM) with backstage support during all Technical rehearsals and performances for our production of Laughs in Spanish by Alexis Scheer, directed by Tanaquil Márquez.

It’s Art Basel in Miami, and Mariana’s gallery is ready for its biggest moment—until she discovers all the artwork has vanished! Her intern, Caro, rushes with her police-officer boyfriend to find the missing art… or should they replace it with Caro’s art? Add in a surprise visit from her glamorous movie-star mother and an old flame back on the scene and chaos ensues. This whirlwind comedy, fueled by cafecíto and high stakes, blends family drama, romance, and a touch of telenovela flair in a hilarious story about art, ambition, and the complexities of mothers and daughters.
