Job summary

Pima County's Animal Care Center is seeking an Animal Care Assistant I to handle frontline inquiries, process calls, and coordinate pet surrender appointments in a busy, public-facing setting. You will monitor voicemail inboxes, update records, and support caregivers with information and resources.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus customer service or call center experience. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handles a high volume of live calls with the public and monitors voicemail inboxes.
• Responds to inquiries via phone or email and resolves issues regarding pet ownership or crises.
• Maintains databases and thorough records of interactions and actions.
• Demonstrates exemplary customer service.
• Coordinates, schedules and manages pet surrender appointments.
• Communicates program activities with other department units.
• Approves and distributes grant funding for services through partnered organizations.
• May represent the program at community events and provide resources.
• May train new employees.
