Job description

Recruiter, The Custom Group Of Companies

Our client, the largest union in the United States, is seeking a Bilingual Administrative Assistant to join their Boston office.

This is a temp-to-hire position with a work schedule of Monday – Friday, including one remote day. Work hours are from 9am to 5pm, with occasional weeknight and weekend work. The pay rate is $26.00 per hour. Bilingual Spanish is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Support administrative operations in the Boston office.
  • Organize union events, including logistics, food, materials, and attendance reporting.
  • Set up and break down equipment for meetings.
  • Greet visitors, answer phones, and route calls.
  • Assist members with worksite issues and connect them to the Grievance Center.
  • Handle vendor check requests and process paperwork and expenses for members and executives.
  • Support Executive Board members with travel, reimbursements, and arbitration scheduling.
  • Assist members with dues questions and building operations.
  • Maintain IT equipment and organize office space and supplies.
  • Manage conference room reservations and office moves.
  • Provide clerical support, including filing, copying, data entry, and mailings.
  • Support administrative tasks using union technology tools.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Professional demeanor with tact and cultural sensitivity.
  • Proficient with computers, databases, phones, and office equipment.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Flexibility to work long or irregular hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
