Cooperative Counseling in Mountainside, NJ is seeking a bilingual Access Specialist I to serve as the first contact for referrals and to manage scheduling for outpatient and IIC services. The candidate should have a Bachelor's in Human Services or 3–5 years of healthcare customer service experience, plus Spanish fluency and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field OR 3–5 years health care customer service experience.
• Spanish fluency required.
• Proficient with Word, Excel & PowerPoint; basic computer skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills when working with individuals and groups.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls, emails, e-facsimiles, and online referrals per targets.
• Conduct Telephonic Intakes and enter data in the EMR client chart.
• Schedule Intakes and Psychiatric Evaluations for Outpatient program.
• Provide client portal instructions and reset passwords for new clients.
• Secure insurance information and verify coverage; offer sliding scale if needed.
• Follow up on initial authorizations and requests; manage waitlist.
• Liaise between client and APN; handle calls and emails as first line of contact.
• Reschedule all no-show/cancelled appointments and remind clients of policies.
