Joliet Public Schools District 86 is seeking a dedicated Bilingual/ELL Education Classroom Teacher for 1st grade to provide high-quality instruction in both native language and English. The teacher will foster bilingualism and bicultural understanding while engaging students with diverse linguistic needs.

The role requires a State of Illinois Professional Educator License with a bilingual endorsement and strong community relations skills.

Qualifications

• Illinois Professional Educator License required with General Education endorsement for the appropriate grade level.
• Bilingual Endorsement or Educator License with Stipulations (Bilingual) required.
• Demonstrated leadership, academic competence, and community relations.
• Fluency in the language of the target population and in English.
• Understanding of cultural and linguistic diversity.
• Familiarity with bilingual/ESL coursework and curricula.

Responsabilités

• Implement the Bilingual Education program according to state guidelines.
• Instruct students in their native language and in English.
• Use diverse instructional strategies and materials to meet student needs.
• Maintain behavior standards and a productive learning environment.
• Communicate with parents through conferences and other means.
• Prepare for parent-teacher conferences and maintain student records.
• Collaborate with building principals, program coordinators, and curriculum staff.
