Job summary

GlobalLogic is seeking an experienced data engineering professional to design and lead end-to-end data integration across diverse sources. You will tune performance and resolve complex big data and streaming issues on a scalable tech stack, including data processing, databases, and security.

Responsibilities include testing, QA support, requirements analysis, and evaluating third-party libraries. A CS/CE/Math degree is required, with 5+ years in production data apps and Kafka-focused streaming

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and implementing data applications in production using Java, Python, or Scala on big data platforms.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with streaming technologies, especially Kafka, on open-source stacks.
• Ability to optimize data flow and design scalable data pipelines including data lakes/warehouses.
• Knowledge of distributed data architectures, caching, MapReduce, and security/compliance.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.

• Design and implement scalable solutions across the technology stack, including data processing, database, web services, network, and security layers.
• Perform integration testing and provide support to QA teams on large-scale projects.
• Contribute to requirements analysis, project estimation, system design, coding, and testing.
• Evaluate and implement appropriate third-party libraries and software to enhance product capabilities.
  Stay current with emerging techniques and trends in big data and AI/ML.

Requirements

• Proficiency in programming languages: Java, Python, Scala, and SQL.
• Strong analytical capabilities, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication, with the ability to facilitate team collaboration.

Job Responsibilities

• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing data applications in production using Java, Python, or Scala on big data platforms, with deep expertise in big data technologies and data optimization techniques.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with streaming technologies, specifically with a strong focus on Kafka, and various open-source software platforms (e.g., Apache ecosystem, Linux).
• Proven ability to optimize data flow and design efficient, scalable data pipelines, including data lakes and warehouses on containerized clusters.
• Strong understanding of distributed data architecture concepts (e.g., caching, MapReduce, stream processing).
• Solid knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

GlobalLogic estimates the starting pay range for this role to be performed in Basking Ridge, NJ, to be $110,000 to $115,000 and reflects base salary only. This pay range is provided as a good-faith estimate, and the amount offered may be higher or lower. GlobalLogic takes many factors into consideration in making an offer, including candidate qualifications, work experience, operational needs, travel and onsite requirements, internal peer equity, prevailing wage, responsibilities, and other market and business considerations
