About the role

The Manager, Bids & Proposals will be responsible for coordinating the bidding process for waste and recycling bid proposal requests. This role involves acting as the go-between for all stakeholders in the bid process. Responsibilities include preparing responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring Reworld compliance with client requirements for submission, and collaborating with various departments to deliver competitive and accurate bids. Interfaces with Reworld sales team, Reworld Solutions team, and other department heads within Reworld to complete our obligations as part of the RFP/RFI process. This role will act as liaison to the appropriate Reworld Waste representatives from various departments within the company (i.e. sustainability, safety, legal/risk, insurance, etc.) to gather information and ensure timely completion of proposals.

Location: Remote, in the US.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

What you will do:

• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, including pricing, technical specifications, and compliance documents for Total Waste Management (TWM) programs.
• Review and analyze bid invitations and requests for information (RFIs) to determine requirements and scope.
• Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., operations, finance, legal, sustainability, etc.) to gather necessary information and ensure bid accuracy.
• Maintain organized records of all bid-related documents and correspondence.
• Communicate with clients and vendors to clarify bid requirements and address any queries.
• Ensure all bid submissions comply with client specifications, legal requirements, and company policies.
• Analyze past bid performance to identify areas for improvement and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Develop and maintain a bidding calendar to track deadlines and ensure timely submission of proposals.

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications or additional qualifications in procurement or project management are a plus.
• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in bidding, procurement, or a related field, preferably within the waste management or recycling industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with bidding software or tools.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Ability to understand complex oral and written instructions.
• Effectively work with tight RFP deadlines and competing requests.
• Understanding of environmental services and sustainability technical terminology.
