Job description

STV is seeking a Bid Director to work with our commercial project management team. This position is designated as hybrid (3 days in-office per week) and can be within a commutable distance of one of our major U.S. offices.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage specific Major Project bids and oversee all other Major Project bids.
  2. Coordinate with Design-Build Director and Regional Director to identify Major Project bids.
  3. Develop strategy, schedule, and resource requirements, ensuring adherence to Gateway processes and obtaining necessary approvals.
  4. Work with Project Managers and Commercial Managers to establish Design Delivery plans, including scope, drawings, specifications, and reports.
  5. Review Prime Agreement General Requirements and ensure bid compliance in terms of finances and schedule.
  6. Oversee the preparation of resource-loaded Design Schedules, coordinating with construction schedules.
  7. Collaborate with Procurement and Project Managers to develop and oversee procurement strategies, ensuring accurate budgets and bid exclusions.
  8. Develop auditable fee estimates for self-delivered design, ensuring scope and schedule are incorporated.
  9. Conduct Risk and Opportunity Workshops, incorporating findings into bids.
  10. Establish Project Organagrams, Design Work Plans, and BIM Execution Plans, ensuring they are reflected in bids.
  11. Support development of Alternative Technical Concepts, considering risks and opportunities.
  12. Prepare Tender Summary Sheets and Offer letters, including scope, schedule, clarifications, and exclusions.
  13. Review and respond to contractor correspondence and meeting records.
  14. Maintain a database of previous bids for KPI tracking.
Requirements
  1. Minimum of 20 years of experience in related fields.
  2. Strong background in alternative project delivery methods, understanding contractors' means and methods, contract management, and commercial oversight.
  3. Technical expertise in commercial, contract, and risk management.
  4. Experience with large engineering and construction projects.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to independently resolve problems and operate efficiently.
  7. Degree in construction, engineering, or a related discipline.
  8. Membership in a relevant professional body.

Compensation Range: $175,410.26 - $233,880.34
