Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a qualified data/reporting engineer to design, develop, and optimize SSRS reports and Power BI dashboards for financial services contexts. You will translate business requirements into robust reporting solutions, manage subscriptions, and collaborate on SDLC with a focus on data integrity.

The role involves web app development with HTML/CSS/JavaScript, front-end frameworks, and SQL Server data sources.

Qualifications

• 3+ years SSRS report development in a production environment.
• 2+ years Power BI development.
• 3+ years SQL Server development with strong T-SQL proficiency.
• 2+ years web app development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a modern frontend framework.
• Experience in financial services or regulated industry preferred.
• Proficient in SSRS paginated reports, subscriptions and RDL authoring.
• Proficient in Power BI Desktop/Service, DAX, Power Query, dataflows, RLS.
• Strong data modeling fundamentals including star schema and normalization.
• Experience with Git-based workflows and SDLC processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy SSRS reports for stakeholders and regulatory outputs.
• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards with drill-downs, filtering, and KPI visuals.
• Translate business requirements into accurate reporting solutions.
• Manage SSRS subscriptions, permissions, and scheduled report delivery.
• Design and develop web applications and internal tools supporting data platforms.
• Build responsive front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Collaborate with the development team on architecture, code reviews, and best practices.
• Write complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and optimize query performance.
• Source and shape data from data warehouses and OLTP systems; work with DBAs.
• Document report logic, data sources, APIs, and field definitions.
