Job summary

Tenet Health offers a valuable internship in our Data and Analytics team in Dallas. The BI Developer Intern will design, develop, and maintain BI solutions using Power BI, MS Fabric, Power Automate, Google BigQuery, SQL, and other enterprise reporting tools to deliver actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Experience in Power BI, MS Fabric and MicroStrategy.
• Proficient with relational databases and SQL.
• Proficient with at least one scripting language, e.g., Python.
• Pursuing a degree in CS/SE/IS or equivalent experience as a junior BI developer.
• Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain BI solutions – including reports, dashboards, and metrics using Power BI, MS Fabric, Power Automate, Google BigQuery, SQL, and other enterprise reporting tools.
• Ensure data quality, security, and integrity – apply best practices in data analysis, test design, validation, documentation, and proactive quality measures.
• Analyze and optimize complex data systems – document data elements, flows, relationships, dependencies, and perform root cause analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
• Stay current with BI trends and innovations – proactively explore and adopt emerging tools and practices.
• Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems
• Weekly check ins with Manager on performance & objectives.
• Willingness to promote academic, career and personal development.
• Opportunity to provide and receive feedback.

Qualifications

• Experience in Power BI/ MS Fabric/MicroStrategy
• Proficient with relational databases and SQL
• Proficient with at least one scripting language (e.g., Python)
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience as a junior BI developer), with a passion for analytics and data.
