Medline Industries, LP in the Chicagoland area invites rising seniors to join a 10-week summer internship in Business Intelligence Development/Analytics. You will own BI projects, build dashboards, and contribute to data warehousing and reporting initiatives.

The program emphasizes hands-on experience, social events, leadership presentations, and community service, helping you develop market-ready BI skills and a professional network.

Qualifications

• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• Understanding of data storage and ETL methodologies.
• Familiar with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Qlik; SQL knowledge.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; collaborative.

Responsibilities

Our internships span a variety of business areas and are open to rising seniors in undergraduate programs. Designed to support both personal and professional growth, the 10‑week summer program runs from early June through mid‑August in one of our four corporate offices in the Chicagoland area.

This Business Intelligence Development/Analytics Intern will be responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise business intelligence, data warehousing and reporting solutions. This individual will also create and maintain detailed business requirements, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for our business.

Job Description

Projects/responsibilities could include:

• Responsible for requirements gathering and creating business requirement documents.


• Responsible for design, development, and implementation of new dashboards


• Responsible for development of analytical (tabular) reports


• Debug and/or optimize existing data flows and reports


• Responsible for conducting unit testing and troubleshooting.


• Responsible for working with internal customers and IT partners to develop and analyze business intelligence requirements and suggest solutions.


• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data. Transform analyses into concrete, actionable recommendations to drive decision‑making.

Qualifications

• Junior standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.


• Background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related field


• Understanding of basic data storage and ETL methodologies and techniques


• Basic Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, and SQL


• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products


• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills


• Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team

The Anticipated Salary Range For This Position

$23.25 - $33.75 Hourly

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
