Job summary

Tenet Health is offering a BI Developer Intern position in Dallas for aspiring data professionals. The internship blends classroom knowledge with real-world BI projects across Power BI, SQL, and analytics, conducted onsite with mentorship from experienced analysts.

The role provides exposure to data quality, governance, and dashboard development, plus opportunities to tackle capstone projects and potentially transition to full-time employment after graduation.

Qualifications

• Experience in Power BI, MS Fabric, and MicroStrategy.
• Proficient with relational databases and SQL.
• Proficient with at least one scripting language (e.g., Python).
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience as a junior BI developer).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain BI solutions – including reports, dashboards, and metrics using Power BI, MS Fabric, Power Automate, Google BigQuery, SQL, and other enterprise reporting tools.
• Ensure data quality, security, and integrity – apply best practices in data analysis, test design, validation, documentation, and proactive quality measures.
• Analyze and optimize complex data systems – document data elements, flows, relationships, dependencies, and perform root cause analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
• Stay current with BI trends and innovations – proactively explore and adopt emerging tools and practices.
• Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
